The immense amount of information from sequencing and mapping of genetic information from all areas of biology on the one hand, as well as data from crystal structure analyzes on the other hand, and in general the complexity of biology make a database storage required. The openness with which the free access to these data is allowed, in particular in the medical field, a motor for subsequent projects, whose data are in turn as open databases. A review of existing databases is therefore the necessary next step, which has created Metabase an informative, searchable compendium.
