Methyl benzoate ( methyl benzoate, Niobeöl ) is a chemical compound, a colorless liquid with a characteristic odor that arises as esters of the aromatic benzoic acid upon reaction with methanol. Is an aromatic and flavoring substance used in the production of cosmetics, and in food.

Use

Methyl benzoate is used in the capacity as high-boiling substance as measuring liquid for heat cost allocator on the evaporation principle. Another use is in use as intermediaries ( for example, in addition to methyl benzoate xylene ) in the preparation of histological slides.
