Methyl benzoate ( methyl benzoate, Niobeöl ) is a chemical compound, a colorless liquid with a characteristic odor that arises as esters of the aromatic benzoic acid upon reaction with methanol. Is an aromatic and flavoring substance used in the production of cosmetics, and in food.
