Metin Akpınar

Metin Akpınar ( born November 2, 1941 in Aksaray, Istanbul) is a Turkish actor. Through his artistic partnership with Zeki Alasya he formed one of the most famous comedy duo of Turkish film history.

Life and career

Metin Akpınar graduated from the University of Istanbul, the study of law and literature. In 1964, he first appeared in Ulvi - Uraz Theatre on the theater Gözlerimi Kaparım Vazifemi Yaparım. He was co-founder of 1967 opened Devekuşu Theater, which is considered the first Turkish Cabaret Theatre until its closure in 1992, its general manager.

In 1998 Akpınar was awarded by Süleyman Demirel, the then president of Turkey as well as the Ministry of Culture of the title Devlet Sanatçısı. This title is awarded to performers that have marked by special services in Turkish culture.

Most of his films he played with Zeki Alasya, where he usually approached the role of the armed Radicals.
