Metro Ligero de Madrid

The light rail Madrid (Spanish: Metro Ligero ) supplemented in two less densely populated areas of the city edge of the Spanish capital, Madrid Metro. All three light rail lines were put into operation in 2007, initially on 24 May, north of Madrid, the line ML -1 from Las Tablas to Pinar de Chamartín. This was followed on 27 July 2007 in the west of Madrid and the routes ML -2 Colonia Jardín after Aravaca and the ML- 3 is also from Colonia Jardín to Boadilla del Monte. Overall, the routes amounted to 28.7 km, connecting 36 stations. Most of the routes runs above ground, but there are also some short underground sections.

Rolling stock

The trains used the model Citadis 302 Alstom reach a top speed of 70 km / h and are supplied with 750 volts. The trains offer 54 seats and 132 standing places. In contrast to the Madrid Metro trains run this in legal relations.

Lines

Line 1

The track has a length of 5.4 km and has nine stops. In December 2004, we started construction work for this line and finished with the opening on 24 May 2007. The line ML -1 opens up the new districts Sanchinarro and Las Tablas, and the settlement Virgen del Cortijo. In contrast to the other two lines of the Metro Ligero are already all stops operating, additional stops on the existing line are planned.

From the underground terminus Pinar de Chamartín, which is also a new endpoint in the Metro lines 1 and 4, the line passes under the first M -11 and the industrial area Manoteras and then crosses under the settlement Virgen del Cortijo. On the surface it will return to the road Príncipe Carlos de Sanchinarro to happen after two underground stops from the A-1 and the Las Tablas district to achieve. Line 2

Line 2 or ML -2 has a length of 8.7 km and has 13 stops, three of which are underground. In December 2004, we started construction work for this line and finished with the opening on July 27, 2007. Line 3

Line 3 or ML -3 is the longest of the three lines of the Metro Ligero, has a length of 13.7 km and has 15 stations, two of which are underground. In December 2004, we started construction work for this line and finished with the opening on July 27, 2007. Currently, five vehicles are used on this route. If necessary, the number may be increased to seven. In contrast to the other lines of the Metro Ligero both termini with other modes of transportation ( Cercanías, Metro ) here are not connected, but only the output station Colonia Jardín.
