Mette Mestad

Mette Mestad ( born November 19, 1958) is a former Norwegian biathlete.

Mestad belonged to in the early years of the women's biathlon very successful Norwegian team. In the 1983/84 season Mestad became the second Norwegian woman after her teammate Gry Østvik in the season before the World Cup. Unlike other Norwegian biathletes this time, however Mestad had little success at world championships and achieved neither a single nor a squadron medal there.

In addition to the overall World Cup victory Mestad celebrated their greatest successes at national level. Overall, it was between 1979 and 1985 twelve times Norwegian Champion. Five times in a row she was in the relay race successfully, four times in singles and three times in the sprint. The most successful Mestad was in 1980 discharged in Austmarka Championships, where she was victorious in all three disciplines.
