Mezná (Pelhřimov District)

Mezná ( German mesna ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers south of Pelhřimov and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Mezná located in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands on a ridge between the valleys and the Bela Hejlovka that flows southwest of the village in the nature reserve V Mezence. To the south rises the twin peaks of Nádavek (700 m) and Bukový Kopec (702 m). On the eastern edge of the pond is Podmetlička.

Neighboring towns are Čelistná and Vratišov in the north, Houserovka in the northeast, Benátky in the east, in the southeast Janovice, Vesela in the south, and Častrov Drážďany in the southwest and Vlásenice - Drbohlavy in the West.

History

The first mention of Mezná dates from the year 1362, the district Vratišov is already since 1203 -existent.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Mezná Mezná ( mesna ) and Vratišov ( Wratischow ).
