Mezzerschmitt

Mezzerschmitt is a Norwegian extreme metal band. The band was founded by Jan Axel Blomberg and Rune Eriksen, both of Mayhem, and Lars Sørensen from Red Harvest.

Band History

The members of the project initially wanted to remain anonymous. For this reason, they gave the pseudonym " Mr. Smith " ( Eriksen ), " Captain Hammer" ( Blomberg ) and " Lieutenant LS" ( Sørensen ). Mezzerschmitt published so far only the EP world domination.

Style of music and texts

The band used influences from the Industrial Metal, their style is still inspired by Black Metal. The lyrics of the four songs from the EP are written in faulty German (for example, is a title FeuerZauben ). The band was rumored Initially a slope to Nazism and the project was moved to the far right corner. Because of the name, nicknames, and the martial image it came to the suspicions. This was supported by several statements of Blomberg, who spoke out in interviews against foreigners in Norway. Rune Eriksen explained that world domination was a thought out project and thus apolitical. The band wanted to portray a bleak vision of the future.
