MF 01

MF 01, short for Metro Fer Commande 2001 ( German in about: Metro ordering wheel-rail technology in 2001 ), is a type of vehicle for the Paris Métro, which will be delivered from 2008 to 2016 to the French public transport company RATP. It is five -piece electric railcars, which are used in Paris on lines 2, 5 and 9. They are 67 to replace the previous model MF from the 1960s and 1970s.

Construction

The cars are connected with bellows to each other and thus allow the free passage between the cars, which is not possible in the older railcars in the Métro. The seat assembly has both opposing seats, and longitudinal seats. A special feature of the trains is the most energy -efficient drive technology, which can save up to 30 % of the electrical energy since they are firstly equipped with an electric Rekuperationssbremse and because the maximum speed of the Métro lines not exceeding 70 km / h, the drive motors are dimensioned accordingly.

Delivery

For the first time in the history of the RATP contract for the components of the metro trains were no longer centrally awarded to a company, but distributed according to the European guidelines for invitations on several tranches:

  • Areva TA: Security Systems
  • Bombardier: chassis, bogies, cabs
  • Alstom: Electrical equipment, drive train, brakes and final assembly of the car
  • Ansaldo STS: driving automatics, automatic door opening and closing
  • CETAM Automatismes: cabling, cable management

The pilot series was tested from 2006 in operation, the serial production began in 2008 and should be completed in 2016.
