MFSB

MFSB (short for Mother, Father, Sister, Brother) was a loose association of several studio musicians who in 1971 initially accompanied by numerous Phillysound interpreters and later released successful solo albums. Stylistically influential were the massive and opulent strings and horn inlays.

In 1974 the band managed a top international hit with the instrumental TSOP ( The Sound of Philadelphia ) together with the Three Degrees as background singers. Originally it was the music for the U.S. TV show Soul Train; was composed the piece by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. In the U.S. they had thus a number -one hit and million-seller, in Germany they reached 5th place

2004, the song Love Is the Message by MFSB was inducted into the newly formed Dance Music Hall of Fame.
