Miandoab (Persian میاندوآب; Mīāndūāb ) is a city in the Iranian province of West Azerbaijan. The population is just under 129,000 inhabitants ( 2012).

Miandoab what is called in the Azerbaijan Qoshachay, located in the delta region of the two rivers Zarrineh and Simineh. The city is surrounded by fertile soil and Mediterranean climate prevails. Since the early 20th century, there is also a sugar factory here.

The majority form Azerbaijanis and Kurds next. Most of the Azeris are Shiites, but in addition there are large groups of Ahl -e Haqq and Alevi in and around Miandoab. Before the Islamic revolution of 1979, there were also many Bahai.
