Michael Axworthy

Michael Axworthy is a British scientist and writer, who headed the Iran Department of the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office from 1998 to 2000.

Except by the publication of non-fiction books he has emerged on BBC Radio 4 by contributions for Prospect and The Independent as well as for the weekly radio program Start the Week.

In 2008 he became head of the then founded the Centre for Persian and Iranian Studies ( CPIS ), which is based at the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies at the University of Exeter.
