Michael Burks

Michael " Iron Man " Burks ( born July 30, 1957 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; † 6, 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia ) was an American blues guitarist.

Life

Burks comes from a musical family in which the Blues has a great importance. His grandfather Joe Burks played at local bars in Camden, Arkansas, and his father Frederik played after work in the Blue clubs and supported trip musicians, including Sonny Boy Williamson II At the age of two years, he began playing the guitar by plates his father nachspielte. He always got a dollar, if he succeeded, until his father came home from work to home. He had his first public performance at the age of six years on a trip to Arkansas.

In the early 1970s, after his father had severely injured his hand, he and his family moved to Arkansas, where they opened the " Bradley Ferry Country Club ," in which Michael led the house band.
