Michael Cammalleri

Michael Cammalleri ( born June 8, 1982 in Richmond Hill, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player Italian -Polish- Czechoslovakian ancestry. Since January 2012, he plays for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League on the position of the center.

Career

Cammalleri played with three years from 1999 to 2002 at the University of Michigan in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. However, his contract was not renewed and Cammalleri signed on 1 July 2009 at the Montreal Canadiens. In his first season in Montreal he indeed scored fewer points than the previous year, but during the playoffs he drew attention to himself with 13 goals and 19 points in 19 games and was the best scorer of the Canadiens.

On 12 January 2012, the Habs him transferred together with the rights to goalie Karri Rämö and a fifth- round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2012 in exchange for Rene Bourque, Patrick Holland and a second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 to the Calgary Flames.

Internationally

Cammalleri first came on for his country at the U20 World Youth Championship in 2001 and was immediately win the bronze medal. The following year he played a decisive role in ensuring that Canadians have won the silver medal because he was elected by his eleven points in seven games at the best striker of the tournament. After a disappointing 2006 World Cup from Canadian point of view Cammalleri crowned his international career by winning the gold medal at the 2007 World Championships.
