Michael Clarke Duncan

Michael Clarke Duncan ( born December 10, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois; † 3 September 2012 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Duncan grew up in a household with only one parent in Chicago. He worked with his enormous size (height: 196 cm, weight: about 142 kg) first as a bouncer in various clubs in Chicago, then as a bodyguard in Los Angeles, among other things, for Will Smith and Jamie Foxx.

His first major film was Armageddon - The Last Judgment; during the filming in 1998, he became friends with Bruce Willis. This later helped him to his most famous role as John Coffey in the Stephen King adaptation The Green Mile, for which he received an Academy Award, among others, and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor. On the side of Willis, he also starred in the films The Whole Nine Yards, Sin City, and Breakfast of Champions - Breakfast of Champions.

Other famous roles were those of the Kingpin in Daredevil, Balthazar in The Scorpion King and participation in Planet of the Apes and The Island. Additionally, he was Atlas in the PlayStation game God of War II as well as a character in the computer game Soldier of Fortune his voice, as well as Wade from the future in the Kim Possible episode A Sitch in Time.

In addition to his roles in films Duncan also had guest appearances in series, as in the U.S. crime series CSI: NY and on the sitcom Two and a Half Men In Bones - he played The Knochenjägerin as Leo Knox in the sixth season in the backdoor pilot for spin-off the Finder, where he continued these roles. In 2011, he stood next to Mischa Barton and Devon Sawa in Matt Orlando's horror film The Sibling front of the camera.

His German voice actor was Tilo Schmitz.

On September 3, 2012, he died at the age of 54 of a heart attack he had suffered on 13 July 2012. He left behind his fiancée Omarosa Manigault - Stallworth.
