Michael Deeley

Michael Deeley ( born August 6 1932 in London) is a British film producer who was on such films as Charlie million from dust (1969 ), The Deer Hunter (1978) and Blade Runner (1982 ) involved. He is also a founding member and Vice Chairman of the British Screen Advisory Council. In 1979, he won together with Barry Spikings and Michael Cimino an Oscar for The Deer Hunter.

Life

Deeley's father was the head of an advertising company and his mother worked as an assistant for various film producers. After he had served during the war in Malaysia, he was given by the relations of his mother a job as an assistant editor at Douglas Fairbanks junior. While working on the television series The Adventures of Robin Hood, he and his partner Harry Booth decided to go into film production.
