Michael Gabellini

Michael Gabellini (born 1958 in Pennsylvania ) is a minimalist American architect and interior designer. Gabellinis designs are characterized by bright, large rooms with economical furniture.

Biography

Gabellini grew up in Pennsylvania and studied at the Rhode Iceland School of Design, where in 1980 he a Bachelor of Fine Arts ( BFA ) acquired in architecture and in 1981 a Bachelor in Architecture. After six years at Kohn, Pederson & Fox, Gabellini spent a year studying at the London Architectural Association School of Architecture and also worked intensively in his studies Rome. After his return to the United States Gabellini founded in 1991, the Manhattan -based architectural and interior design firm Gabellini Sheppard Associates, whose partners Kimberly Sheppard and, now, Dan Garbowit are.

The best known works of the office are the restoration of Rockefeller Center, and the former AT & T building on Fifth Avenue. Gabellini and his partners designed headquarters of businesses, restaurants and retail outlets, among others, for Jil Sander, Giorgio Armani and the luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman.
