Michael Gross (science writer)

Michael Gross ( born 1963 in Kirn ) is a German - English science writer and book author.

Life

Michael Gross studied chemistry in Marburg and Regensburg, where he received his doctorate in 1993. Then he explored to 2000 at the Oxford Centre for Molecular Sciences, the biophysical chemistry of proteins. During this time he wrote science journalistic contributions, including for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and for Scientific American. Since 2000 he is a full time freelance science journalist based in Oxford and is a regular contributor among other spectrum of science, chemistry in our time and news from the chemistry, as well as for English-language magazines such as Chemistry World, Current Biology and Oxford Today. He is the author of several popular science books he has mostly created both in English and in German version. Some of his texts have been translated into French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch.
