Michael Harvey (taekwondo)

Michael Paul Harvey ( born September 21, 1989 in Manchester ) is a British Taekwondo. It starts in the weight category up to 63 kilograms.

Harvey joined the Manchester Aces in his hometown. He began at the age of five with his sport. His first international title fights denied Harvey at the Junior European Championships 2005 in Baku, where he reached the semi-finals and won bronze. In 2008 he qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing. There he competed in the weight class up to 58 kg, reached the quarterfinals, where he retired against Guillermo Pérez and finished at number seven. The following year, Harvey played his first World Cup in Copenhagen, but different in his opening fight of. In the international top he pressed forward during the 2011 World Championships in Gyeongju. He reached the final against Lee Dae- hoon and won the silver medal. On the way home the European Championship 2012 in Manchester Harvey became European Champion for the first time.
