Michael Hester

Michael Hester ( born 2 May 1972) is a New Zealand football referee.

He has been head of the Season 2004/ 05 games of the New Zealand Football League, he is FIFA referee since 2007. Hester took so far as Impartial to the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing in part and directed several matches in the Oceania qualifying for the World Cup 2010. He was nominated for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2009 and is together with his compatriot Peter O'Leary on the provisional selection list for the world Cup finals in 2010.

Hester lives in Auckland and works there in his main profession as a naval officer.
