Michael Kipyego

Michael Kipkorir Kipyego ( born October 2, 1983 in Marakwet ) is a Kenyan long-distance runners and obstacle.

He became junior world champion over 3,000 m steeplechase in 2002. The following year he won at the World Cross Country Championships in Avenches on the short distance in fourth in the individual standings gold with the Kenyan team and retired about 3000 m steeplechase at the IAAF World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis in the run- off. In 2007 he won sixth place at the Cross Country Championships in Mombasa again team gold, and in 2008 he won over 3000m steeplechase silver at the European Athletics Championships Africa in Addis Ababa.

In 2011, he was sixth at the Rotterdam Marathon, eighth in the Lille Half Marathon and third at the Eindhoven Marathon. In 2012 he won the Tokyo Marathon.
