Michael Kißener

Michael Kißener ( born December 3, 1960 in Bonn ) is a German historian and high school teacher in Mainz.

From 1982 to 1987 studied Kißener (since 1984 as a fellow of the Episcopal Scholarship Foundation Cusanuswerk ) history, German literature and pedagogy at the Rheinische Friedrich- Wilhelms University in Bonn, where in 1991 he received his doctorate. From 1992 to 2002 he was Managing Director of the " Research Centre Resistance" at the University of Karlsruhe, where he habilitated in 2000. Since 2002 he is Professor of Contemporary History at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. The focus of his publications and lectures is the story of the Nazi dictatorship and the resistance against National Socialism.
