Michael Medwin

Michael Hugh Medwin ( born July 18, 1923 in London, England ) is a British actor and film producer.

Life

Medwin attended the Canford School in Dorset and the Institute Fischer, Montreux. He had his first stage appearance 1940.

He attained the end of the 1950s in England, thanks to his starring role in the television series The Army Game notoriety. The theme song of this series he sang together with Bernard Bresslaw, Leslie Fyson and Alfie Bass. It reached # 5 on the 1958 UK Singles Chart. In the 1980s, he starred in the BBC series Shoestring, and in Mel Smith's comedy series Colin 's Sandwich.

As a supporting actor he has predominantly been on in British films, but also in international productions such as 1962 in the Oscar -winning war film The Longest Day at the side of John Wayne and Henry Fonda. Together with Albert Finney, he founded the film production company, Memorial Enterprises. In this context, he produced the film If ..., in 1969 won the main prize at the film festival in Cannes.
