Michael Schmidt (footballer)
Michael Schmidt ( born August 6, 1962 in Berlin ) is a former German football player.
Career
Michael Schmidt played at SC Charlottenburg, before 1982 Hamburger SV wechselte.Dort he belonged to the squad of Hamburger successful team of the 80s. Schmidt was considered a promising talent, but could not make the breakthrough. The competition of the established players was too big, so he brought it on only a league and a DFB - Pokal use. 1983 Schmidt left the HSV and went to Blue-White 90 Berlin. With the Berliners he made the year after promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. 1986 even managed to ascend to the 1st Bundesliga, but the team was able to hold only one season there.
Michael Schmidt remained until 1992 Blue-White 90 Berlin, then spent a year with the BSV Brandenburg and then ended his career with the Reinickendorfer foxes.
