Michael Levring Vestergaard Knudsen ( born September 4, 1978 in Hobro, Denmark ) is a Danish handball player. He is 1.91 m tall and weighs 97 kg.

Knudsen, who for the SG Flensburg- Handewitt ( shirt number 77) and plays for the Danish national team ( shirt number 18) runs, is used as a circular rotor.

Career

Michael Knudsen began at the age of six years, the handball matches in Hvornum. The resident club forms since 1985 with two other clubs, the gaming community HOH 85, ran aground on the Knudsen. In 1997, he hired at Viborg HK, with whom in 2000 he was the Danish Cup winner. From 2002 to 2004 he played in Håndbold Skjern. Here he won the 2003 EHF Challenge Cup. In the season 2004/2005 he played again for Viborg HK before he finally moved on to the SG Flensburg -Handewitt. With the SG he was in the 2007 Champions League final and was defeated there THW Kiel. In May 2008, he extended his contract with the SG Flensburg- Handewitt by two years until 2010. In spring 2010, Knudsen had to have surgery on the knee joint and then dropped out for a long time. With Flensburg in 2012, he won the European Cup Winners' Cup. For the 2014/15 season he moved the Danish first division club Bjerringbro - Silkeborg.

Michael V. Knudsen ran for the Danish junior national team, with whom he won the 1998 European Championship and 1999 World Cup. At the 2008 European Championships in Norway, he was European champion; at the European Championships in 2002, 2004 and 2006, he won the bronze medal as well as in the World Cup 2007. Moreover, he was elected at the 2007 World Championships All-Star Team. In summer 2012, he participated in the Olympic Games in London, finishing in sixth place. Knudsen scored a total of 21 goals in six games. At the European Championships in 2014 in his own country, he was Vice-European Champion. In April 2014 Knudsen ended after 244 internationals on his international career.
