Michael Van Staeyen

Michaël Van Staeyen ( born August 13, 1988 in Antwerp) is a Belgian road racing cyclist.

Michaël Van Staeyen won the 2004 in the beginners class a stage of the Critérium des Jeunes Européens in Luxembourg. He also took second place at the Belgian Championship and third place at Omloop Het Volk. In the junior class won the 2006 Van Staeyen a stage of the Tour Munsterland. In 2007 he drove for the Belgian Continental team Davo and was successful in the Grote Prijs Stad Vilvoorde day races. Since 2008, Van Staeyen goes for the Dutch team Rabobank Continental, the farm team of the ProTour team Rabobank. In the 2009 season he won the third stage of the Istrian Spring Trophy.

Michaël Van Staeyen comes from a cycling family. His grandfather Joseph Van Staeyen was from 1940 to 1957 and his uncle Ludo Van Staeyen 1971-1977 professional.
