Michaela Gigon

Michaela Gigon ( born March 21, 1977) is an Austrian army athlete who competes in competitions orientation, especially in mountain bike orienteering. In this sport, it is a multiple world champion.

Life

She graduated from the HTL Danube city and 20 -year-old took Gigon at the World Orienteering Championships in 1997 partly in Grimstad, Norway. There were other participations in World Orienteering Championships on foot in the years 1999, 2006 and 2008, however, placements in the front of the field remained there from. In 2002 she took part in the first mountain bike orienteering world championships in France and was doing fifth in the sprint, and eighth on the long distance. Between 2004 and 2006, she was three times. Consecutive World Champion in the middle distance in mountain bike orienteering Then it was 2007 World Champion on the long distance, 2009, the Austrian squadron ( with Lisi Hohenwarter and Sonja Zinkl ) and 2010 for the fourth time on the middle distance.
