Michal Papadopulos

Michal Papadopulos [ mixal papadɔ̹pulɔ̹s ] ( born April 14, 1985 in Ostrava, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech football player of Greek origin. Michal's father is Greek, his mother is from the Czech Republic.

Career

Association

Papadopulos played for NH Ostrava (1992-1998) and Banik Ostrava (1998-2003), was loaned to Arsenal FC (2003-2004) in 2004 and returned back to Banik Ostrava. On 1 January 2006 changed the striker in the Bundesliga for Bayer 04 Leverkusen. In the second half of the season 2007/ 08, the attackers played on loan at Energie Cottbus. In summer 2008, Papadopulos moved back to the Czech Republic and joined the FK Mladá Boleslav. After a season in the Czech Republic, he moved back abroad and went to the Dutch Cup winner SC Heerenveen. In early 2011 moved Papadopulos the Russian second division Zhemchuzhina Sochi. Here, he scored 5 goals in 14 league games. From 2011 to 2012 Michal Papadopulos played for the Russian Erstligiste FK Rostov. However, he was only a reserve player to hit only 9 league games in which he scored 1 goal. In June 2012, Papadopulos signed a one year contract with an option for two more years at the Polish first division Zagłębie Lubin.

National

Papadopulos went through from the U-15 almost all the youth national teams of the Czech Football Association. He played 27 games between 2004 and 2007 for the Czech U- 21 team. In the summer of 2008, he was first nominated for the senior national team and made his debut on 20 August 2008 in a friendly against England ( 2:2 ) when he came on in the second minute of stoppage time for Jaroslav Plašil. Since then, he played six international matches.
