Michel Emer

Michel Emer ( born June 18, 1906 in St. Petersburg, † November 28, 1984 in Neuilly -sur -Seine ) was a French composer, lyricist and pianist in the area of ​​chanson.

Emer wrote songs for, inter alia Maurice Chevalier, Ray Ventura, Tino Rossi, Eartha Kitt and Yves Montand. From 1940 until her death, he wrote numerous songs for Édith Piaf. The best known of these are L' accordeoniste and the duet À quoi ça sert l' amour, which interpreted Piaf and her husband Théo Sarapo.

Michel Emer was married to the French actress Jacqueline Maillan.
