Michel Winock

Michel Winock ( born March 19, 1937 in Paris ) is a French historian.

Winock was a professor of history at the Institut d' études politiques de Paris and program director of the publishing house Éditions du Seuil. His book Siècle des intellectuels (1997) was translated into German ( The century of intellectuals ) and Spanish (El siglo de los intelectuales ).

Winock has published some 40 books. He is the editor of the monthly magazine " L' Histoire " which has been published since 1978.
