Michelhausen is a market town with 2639 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Tulln in Lower Austria.

Geography

History

The town was first mentioned in 1250. In the course of the First Austrian Turkish war in 1529 and the Great Turkish War in 1683 made ​​looting. Under Baron Helmhard Jörger there was in 1579 a Protestant preacher. In 1679 the town was ravaged by the plague, and in 1781 and 1806 partly destroyed by fires.
