Michelle Jacquet DeSevren Branch ( born July 2, 1983 in Flagstaff, Arizona) is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist.

Biography

Life

Michelle was named after the eponymous song of the Beatles. Your ancestors came from Ireland, France, the Netherlands and Niederländisch-Indien/Indonesien. She has an older brother, David, and a younger sister, Nicole. In addition to her native English, she also speaks French well. Branch attended high school in Red Rock, broke the school but now and devoted herself entirely to her career as a songwriter.

Since 24 May 2004, she is with bassist Teddy Landau, brother of the famous guitarist Michael Landau, married. With this she has a daughter (* 2005).

Career

Her first big hit was Everywhere ( 2001), followed by the song All You Wanted, both of which were released on their debut album, The Spirit Room. In 2002, she sang The Game of Love, a duet with Carlos Santana. The song was honored with a 2003 Grammy for Best Pop Duo. In the same year she released her second album, Hotel Paper, which reached the Top 20 on the Billboard singles chart.

Composes her songs and writes her own or in partnership, at least as a co- composer of it. As musical influences are called artists such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Patty Griffin, Queen, Aerosmith, Cat Stevens and Joni Mitchell. She plays several instruments, including cello, guitar, accordion, mandolin, harmonica, percussion and piano.

With her former backing vocalist and friend Jessica Harp, she founded the country-pop duo The Wreckers. Their first common song appeared in the American soap opera One Tree Hill, which they performed there on February 8, 2005. Then joined the duo, along with Gavin DeGraw, Tyler Hilton and Bethany Joy Lenz, at the One Tree Hill Tour and toured for weeks by the U.S., but without having previously released an album.

In the television series Buffy - the Vampire Slayer, she sang in the 8th episode of Season 6 at the end of her song Goodbye to You, just as in the 12th episode of Season 5 Charmed - Magical Witches.

In the summer of 2009, her single Sooner or Later, with which they returned to the charts after a long time appeared. The new album Everything Comes and Goes was released on July 19, 2010 as Extended Play with six songs in the United States.

On 14 June 2011 the new single Loud Music was released in the United States. The accompanying album will soon appear on it. Michelle Branch announced that it more more experimental pieces, including will be with synthesizers to find than on their previous albums. Additional property on a tour of America in 2011.
