Microrasbora
Microrasbora rubescens
Microrasbora ( Gr.: "micron " = small Rasbora ) is a genus of very small South Asian Rasboras ( Danioninae ). Of the two species of the genus the type species Microrasbora rubescens is endemic in Burma Inle Lake, the second type, Microrasbora microphthalma lives in Nanwan River in the southern Chinese province of Yunnan.
Features
Microrasbora species are only 2.6 to 3 cm long. Your body is flattened elongated and laterally. Of the similar species Brachydanio and Rasbora is Microrasbora distinguished by the absence of a lateral line and a Symphysenknopfs at the tip of the lower jaw, of Brachydanio also by the lack of barbels. The scales of the Microrasbora species are large and transparent.

Way of life
Microrasbora species live in large flocks in dense plant populations on the shores of Inle Lake (M. rubescens ) or in small mountain streams on sandy and rocky soils (M. microphthalma ).
