Microsoft Expression is a family of software from Microsoft to develop and design images, videos, HTML and ASPX pages and user interfaces for Windows and cross-platform Web applications. It consists of four components:

Version of Expression Studio 3 was released on 1 October 2009. The English version of Expression Studio 4 has been released on 7 June 2010, the German version is available since 17 August 2010. In December 2012, Microsoft stopped the development of the software. Parts of the program package ( including Expression Web and Design) are available for free download since then.

Motivation

Expression Microsoft is trying to penetrate into the market areas that dominated the software company Adobe Systems including through the acquisition of the former company Macromedia.
