Microsoft Songsmith

Songsmith is a program from Microsoft Research, which was presented for the first time in early 2009. It can record vocals and this automatically inferior with a matching accompaniment. The program was started as a research project by Microsoft Research in cooperation with the University of Washington and is now managed solely by Microsoft. Despite the experimental nature of the application Microsoft Songsmith sold for a license price of 30 U.S. dollars.

The program is written in C and uses the. NET Framework. Microsoft Songsmith produced for its own commercial in which the program itself was used. This spread very quickly on the World Wide Web and created numerous imitators who published their own videos with Songsmith on YouTube.
