The area covers 134 districts and towns, including Birriwa, Bylong, Goolma, Gulgong, Hargraves, Ilford, Kandos, Lue, Mudgee, Running Stream, Rylstone, Ulan, Windeyer, Wollar and part of Turill. The administrative headquarters of the council is located in the town of Mudgee in the western half of the LGA, where about 8,200 inhabitants.

Management
