Midland F1 Racing

The Midland F1 Racing team entered the 2006 season, the successor to the venerable Jordan teams in Formula 1, and has been sold during the season at the Dutch car manufacturer Spyker. The team went in 2006 with Russian license under the name of MF1 Racing.

MF1 Racing has no relationship with a team called Midland Racing Team, who took four rounds of the 1971 Formula 2 Championship and are three times more for the Swiss Bruno Frey and once for the Frenchman Hervé Bayard a Chevron B18 began.

The former Jordan team was taken over in January 2005 by the Midland Group. The company is owned by the Russian billionaire Alexander kanado - Shnaider. In the 2005 season, the team took another on under the name Jordan, for the 2006 season was renamed MF1 Racing. It was the first Russian team in Formula 1

Team

Team Manager at Midland was the German Colin Kolles; Albers and Tiago Monteiro drove as a team driver. As a test driver, the two Germans Markus Winkelhock and Adrian Sutil were active. In addition, Giorgio Mondini and Roman Russinow were in the test team. After the first three races of the season Fabrizio del Monte was added as an additional test driver into the Midland team.

Sale

For the Italian Grand Prix at Monza on September 10, 2006, the sale of the team to a financially strong consortium led by the traditional Dutch car manufacturer Spyker Cars NV (in short " Spyker " ) officially announced after negotiations are already underway since March. Michiel Mol replaces Alexander Shnaider from the director of the team. The team continued the season Spyker MF1 Racing under the name over. For the 2007 season the team Spyker F1 came with the name. This in turn changed its name in 2008 as Force India.
