Mieke Pullen

Mieke Pullen ( first marriage Hombergen; * July 14, 1957, † 28 January 2003 hairs) was a Dutch marathon runner.

The mother of two children only began at the age of 30 years to the sport of running. The following year she was fifth at the Eindhoven Marathon in 2:53:44 h and Third at Zevenheuvelenloop.

In 1990, she was second overall as the Westland Dutch Marathon Marathon champion, won the Eindhoven Marathon and was again third in the Zevenheuvelenloop. The following year she won the Amsterdam Marathon and defended her title in Eindhoven. In 1992, she was again as the fourth overall at the Rotterdam Marathon National Marathon Champion, fourth in the Maratona d' Italia and third in the Frankfurt Marathon.

In 1994 she was tenth in Rotterdam, The Third at Enschede Marathon and won the Singapore Marathon. A year later she came in Rotterdam and at the Berlin Marathon respectively to tenth place and was second in Eindhoven.

1996 was a victory in Enschede, a second place in Singapore. In 1997 she won the last edition of the Westland marathons, as was the overall winner of the Eindhoven Marathon for the third time Dutch champion and won the Montferland Run.

In 1998, she was eighth in Rotterdam, defended as second overall in Eindhoven their national title and won again at Montferland Run. She finished seventh at the Rome Marathon and fourth in Eindhoven in 1999.

She celebrated her last great success in the marathon the Senior World Championships in 2001 in Brisbane: On her 44th birthday, she was the overall winner in 2:46:10 h

In 2003, she was killed when she was captured on a training run of a vehicle.

Mieke Pullen was 1.65 m tall and weighed 50 kg. She was coached by her second husband Gerard Noteboom and started for the athletics department of PSV Eindhoven.
