Miele (river)

Speicherkoog on the lower reaches of the Miele

The Miele is a river in Dithmar. From the river their type is a march waters.

The Miele has two source arms, Norder - Miele and Miele Southshore. These unite at Meldorf and flow through the Speicherkoog in the Meldorfer bay of the North Sea. The Miele collects their water on the western heath Itzehoer Geest island. The Norder Miele has its source in Fieler Moor and is fed by the Landgraben and many small ditches. The Southshore Miele fed over the Moorgraben from the Südermoor at Tensbüttel roasting and Dellbrückau. The Miele belongs to the river basin Eider.

Since the function of the Miele is severely affected by slow sanding, 2011, Norder - Miele is dredged up to the Fieler Moor.
