Mierzęcice

Mierzęcice is a village located in powiat Będziński in Silesia, Poland. It is also the seat of the municipality of the same country.

Geography

Mierzęcice lies on the northern edge of the Upper Silesian plate, about 22 km north of Katowice and about 13 km north of the county town bendin. Through the eastern part of the municipality of the Black Przemsa flows.

History

Until 1918 the town was under Russian administration. After independence in 1918, the Russian administration structures were retained. In 1927, the church then to the powiat zawierciański. 1955, the existing church was dissolved and its former districts were divided into two new administrative units. In 1973 a commune Mierzęcice were created again. From 1975 to 1998 she was part of the Province of Katowice. With the entry into force of the 1999 administrative reform it is part of the Silesian Voivodeship. In 2008, the village was divided into the Mierzęcice sołectwo Mierzęcice and Mierzęcice II.

To the community includes the 10 Soltysships ( sołectwo ) Boguchwałowice, Mierzęcice, Mierzęcice II, Mierzęcice Osiedle, Najdziszów, Nowa Wies, Przeczyce, Sadowie, Toporowice and Zawada.

Economy and Transport

A part of the Katowice airport lies on the territory of the municipality. Through the community's Droga run ekspresowa S1 and Droga Krajowa 78
