Mieszko, Duke of Lubusz

Mieszko of Lubusz (also: Mieszko of Silesia, Polish: Mieszko Lubuski, * 1223-1227, † 1242 ) was Duke of Silesia and 1241-1242 Duke of Lebus.

Life

Mieszko came from the Silesian line of the Piast dynasty. His parents were Duke Henry II " the Pious " († 1241 ) and Anne of Bohemia († 1265 ), daughter of the Bohemian King Ottokar I. Přemysl.

Shortly before his death had Henry II, the part of its large Polish possessions included the country Lebus, the castle Lebus his son Mieszko as the residence of. Since Mieszko died a year later without issue, Lebus was pledged to the archbishopric of Magdeburg. Mieszko 's body was buried in St. Peter's Church below the castle Lebus.
