Miguel Mancera

Miguel Mancera Aguayo ( born December 18, 1932 in Mexico City) is a Mexican economist.

Miguel Mancera was 1982-1998 Chairman of the Mexican Central Bank. During his tenure, the Nuevo Peso the current Mexican currency has been introduced.

In 1992 he was awarded the Premio Rey Juan Carlos, the highest honor for economists in the Spanish-speaking world.
