Miho Hatori

Miho Hatori (Japanese羽 鸟 美 保, Miho Hatori, born April 5, 1970 in Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese singer.

The only child grew up in the 70s near Tokyo to the countryside. She liked Japanese pop music and soundtracks of anime like Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, by which their feelings were touched. As a teenager she heard all kinds of music, especially the Osaka underground music. She was a member of the Tokyo rap group Kimidori.

1993 Miho went to New York to study art. She founded the punk band Laito Lychee, where they took over the vocals. They met Yuka Honda (本田 ゆか), with whom she Cibo Matto 1994, the indie band founded. Through its highly successful live shows, the two soon acquired a well outside the scene -reaching visibility. At Warner Bros. Records, they produced two albums, of which 1996 Viva La Woman! was at all, from the Spin Magazine as one of the best albums of the 90s and one of the best hip-hop albums excellent. After Contribute by some guest musicians, the band broke up gradually. Miho worked with numerous prominences such as the Beastie Boys and Gorillaz, where she contributed vocals together. She hides in the Gorillaz guitarist Noodle behind. In 2005, she recorded her solo album.
