Mike Crowley

Mike Crowley ( born July 4, 1975 in Bloomington, Minnesota ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who was active during his active career, among other things, for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the National Hockey League.

Career

Mike Crowley began his career at the Jefferson Jaguars, the ice hockey team of the Bloomington Jefferson High School, where he was active from 1990 to 1994. During this time, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1993 in the sixth round at 140th overall position of the Philadelphia Flyers. After completing his high school career Crowley won the annual award as Minnesota Mr. Hockey, which honors the best high school player of the U.S. state of Minnesota in the 1994 calendar year. He then began studying at the University of Minnesota and played the following three years for their team in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. 1996 Crowley won with the team the championship of the WCHA. On March 19, 1996, he was released in a swap deal with Anatoli Semenov to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, in exchange for Brian Wesenberg was transferred to the Philadelphia Flyers. After Crowley had also spent the following season in the team from the University of Minnesota, he was admitted to the 1997/98 season in the NHL squad Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Although he scored four points scorer in eight NHL games, he was then sent to the end of season to the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, the former farm team of Californians in the American Hockey League.

There, the defensive player occupied a regular place and thus recommended himself to the next season for more appearances in the NHL. The defender played in 20 games the following year for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the NHL, but the breakthrough was denied him, and Crowley was then submitted again to Cincinnati for their farm team. After his contract was not renewed in Anaheim, he signed on 24 August 1999 as a free agent in the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the International Hockey League. The following year, Crowley returned to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and played 39 games in the NHL, in which he scored eleven points. In the same season he was also active for the Grand Rapids Griffins. In the summer of 2001 he was awarded with the Mighty Ducks offered a new contract and signed on 25 July 2001 at the Minnesota Wild. After suffering an injury to his Achilles tendon in training camp wild on 2 October 2001, he nearly fell out of the entire season. Ultimately stood for Crowley, 22 missions for the Houston Aeros to beech, with a score of nine points scorer. On 27 September 2002 he declared his playing career ended.

Internationally

Crowley took part in the World Championships in 1996 and 1998 with Team USA. His greatest success was about winning the bronze medal at the World Championships in 1996.

In his time as a junior player, he played for the U.S. team, the Junior World Championship in 1995.
