Mike McQuay

Mike McQuay ( born June 3, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland as Michael Dennis McQuay; † 25 May 1995) was an American science fiction author.

Life and work

Michael Dennis McQuay was born in 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland. After attending high school in Baltimore and the visit of the McGuiness High School in Oklahoma City 1967-1970 he studied at the University of Texas at Dallas. McQuay worked in the 1970s, among other things, as a musician, aircraft workers in Asia, as a banker or as a factory worker. From 1980 he was artist -in-residence at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.

His first novel, Life - keeper appeared in the United States in 1980. His second book was 1981 Escape from New York, the Film Roman to John Carpenter movie Escape from New York.

His science fiction novel series include Mathew Swain, Ramon and Morgan, Executioner and Super Bolan. The Book of Justice series he wrote under the pseudonym Jack Arnett. Mike McQuay also wrote the second of the Isaac Asimov Robot City novels.

In the 1990s, he collaborated with the British writer Arthur C. Clarke.

McQuay died on 25 May 1995 at the age of only 45 years of a heart attack.

Mike McQuay was married twice. From 1968 to 1981 McQuay and Mary from 1982 until his death with Sandy McQuay. From the marriage produced a son and two daughters.
