Mike Wieringo

Michael " Mike" Wieringo Lance (* June 24, 1963 in Vicenza, Italy, † August 12, 2007 in Durham, North Carolina; pseudonym: Ringo ) was an American comic book artist.

Wieringo grew up as the child of Italian immigrants in the city of Lynchburg in the U.S. state of Virginia. After studying at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, where he graduated with a degree in Communication Arts and Design, he began working as a draftsman for Millennium Publications. There, he illustrated from 1991, the series Pat Savage and Doc Savange: Doom Dynasty.

In 1993 he took orders as a cover artist for Caliber Press ( so for the anthology Negative Burn ) before he experienced his breakthrough as a professional cartoonist with work for the publisher DC Comics. There he first drew stories for the quarterly series Justice League Quarterly ( # 11 and 12) before 1995 got the job of the main signer for the traditional superhero series Flash. His partner here was the author Mark Waid. After his departure as a signatory to the Flash stories he recorded some covers for the series (# 100, 118-124, 128-129; 80 - Page Giant # 2)

There followed a brief run on the series Robin, who has the solo adventures of Batman's junior partner Robin to content. Partners in this project was the author Chuck Dixon. At the same time he drew the four-part miniseries Rogue (1995). For Malibu he drew the series Firearm.

1996 Wieringo drew the one-shot Spider- Boy # 1, followed by a commitment as a regular artist of the series The Sensational Spider -Man in which he collaborated with author Todd Dezago (# 8-31 ). With Dezago Wieringo worked again from 1999 to 2000 at the Fantasy series Tellos together which was published by Image Comics. In 2001 he handed the one-shot Tellos: Maiden Voyage by.

2001 Wieringo returned to DC back where he took over the job draftsman for the Adventures of Superman (# 592-600 ) series, which was written at this time from writer Joe Casey. 2002 Wieringo renewed his collaboration with Mark Waid with whom he collaborated for almost three years the series Fantastic Four supervised. Thereafter, he was on the show Friendly Neighborhood Spider -Man ( # 1-5, 8-10) and the mini-series Spider- Man and the Fantastic Four.
