Mike Wilks (author)

Mike Wilks (* 1947 in London ) is an English artist, illustrator and author.

Life

At age 13 he received a scholarship to art school. He studied graphic design and conducted some years an agency, before settling in 1975 devoted entirely to writing and illustrating. His books are mostly original nonfiction. The artist and his work was the subject of a British television documentary. His original works, which are often a surreal dream world, hanging at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and in private collections. 2007 his first novel was published Mirror Cape, also the first part of a trilogy.

He wrote nine books including the bestseller The Ultimate Alphabet ( Pavilion Books, 1987 ) with more than 750,000 copies.
