Mikel Alonso

Mikel Alonso Olano ( born May 16, 1980 in Tolosa ) is a Spanish football player.

Career

The Basque played one season with the English Premier League club Bolton Wanderers, before returning for season 2008/ 09 to Spain to his hometown club Real Sociedad. There, however, he came under coach Juan Manuel Lillo not to the course and moved in January 2009 to CD Tenerife in the Segunda División. With Tenerife he celebrated promotion to the Primera División. Since 2011 he plays for the English third division side Charlton Athletic.

The defensive midfielder is the older brother of the Basque footballers and Spanish international Xabi Alonso of Real Madrid, who was two years ago changed from Real Sociedad to England and then moved to the record champions Spain.
