Mikulin AM-39
The Mikulin AM- 39 was a Soviet aircraft engine designer of Mikulin.
It is a 12-cylinder V-engine with water cooling. It is based on the Mikulin AM- 35, but had two compressors and a charge air cooler to increase both the maximum and the height of power.
The cylinder banks with each other in an angle of 60 °. The engine displacement was 45.842 liters. There were variants with different performance - the AM- 39FB made 1800 HP, the AN- 39FN -2 1850 hp, the AM- 39A 1900 hp.
The base engine was the 1942 Type Certification with an output of 1870 hp. Intervention took the engine among other things in the experimental high-altitude aircraft MiG series of the types I- 220, I- 221 and I- 222.
Mass production was not initiated.
