Milburn Stone
Milburn Stone ( born July 5, 1904 in Burrton, Kansas, † June 12, 1980 in La Jolla ) was an American actor.
Life and career
Stone toured with various theater groups around the country before he moved to Hollywood in 1935 to become a film actor. It was only as an extra, and later in smaller supporting roles, Stone worked mainly in B-movies. In 1955, Stone was offered in the television series Gunsmoke the role of Dr. Galen "Doc" Adams. Milburn Stone accepted and remained the series, the entire 20 seasons on loyal, but only played in 387 episodes with. For health reasons, Stone began in 1975, when the series was set to rest.
He was married to Ellen Morrison 1939-1940 and after the divorce with Jane Garrison from 1976 until his death.
