Mildred Miller

Mildred Miller Pošvář, née Müller ( born December 16, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American mezzo-soprano.

Life

She received training at Marie Simmelink force. After graduating with honors in 1946, she appeared in Stuttgart and Munich as well as at the Edinburgh Festival.

Miller was discovered by Rudolf Bing for their career at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and made ​​its debut on 17 November 1951 as Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro. Her last stage appearance at the Met was on 3 December 1974, then in 1978 she founded the Opera Theater in Pittsburgh.

She is married to Wesley W. Pošvář and has three children.
